Symposium Travel Grant

Thank you for your interest in our symposium. Travel grant support is generously provided by Dean of Graduate Education in the College of Engineering and the Macromolecular Science and Engineering Program. 

Travel Grants will cover the following eligible expenses
Airfare ($300.00 maximum)
Ground transportation: DTW airport to and from campus ($70.00 maximum one way)
1 night stay at the Holiday Inn 
Networking dinner on 10/23/2019
Breakfast and lunch at the symposium on 10/24/2019

Students are responsible for all expenses not covered on the list above

When will students be notified of the travel grant awards?
Students will be notified via email no later than Wednesday, October 9, 2019.

Do I need to make my own travel arrangements or is there someone who can assist me?
Students are welcome to make their own travel arrangements or they can contact Julie Pollak, Macro Program Coordinator ( for assistance. 

How do I get reimbursed?
Students must submit an itemized receipt that includes method of payment to Julie Pollak ( within one week after the symposium. Reimbursements will not be processed without receipts. 

What airport should I fly into?
We recommend flying into the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW). 

What dates are recommended for travel?
Students should plan on flying in on the morning of 10/23 and return home the night of 10/24.

What ground transportation should I use?
We recommend using Michigan Green Cars 1-877-476-8294

What is the address of the hotel?
The Holiday Inn is located at 3600 Plymouth Rd, Ann Arbor. 

Does the hotel provide a shuttle service?
Yes, the hotel provides a shuttle service to campus. Students can also use the University’s buses while on campus. Click here to view the bus routes and schedules.
